Program Manager, Community Economic Empowerment

Amy is a systems change leader who has spent the last 15 years with nonprofits developing and leading programs and coalitions in mental health, public health, early childhood education, and economic development. That work has included community engagement, organizing, leadership coaching, fund development, broad coalition building, strategic planning, organizational capacity building, and policy change. Born and raised in Delano, CA, Amy received a B.A. from UCLA before working in Japan and San Francisco Bay Area. She moved to Stockton in 2015 with her children, where she’s worked for Reinvent South Stockton Coalition and Little Manila Rising, as well as co-founding a nonprofit consulting firm, Substratum Systems.

At San Joaquin Community Foundation, Amy focuses on building capacity for nonprofits from disinvested communities in order to participate in planning/policy spaces and access public funds to be reinvested in ways that reduce health and economic disparities and build community power and wealth.
