The Community Foundation of San Joaquin announced that it will be launching their first countywide virtual 24-hour crowd-funding fundraiser, 209Gives taking place on Tuesday, July 21, 2020. 209Gives will make it easy for individuals to donate to any of the participating local organizations.

As COVID-19 continues to impact our community, the future has never felt so unpredictable. Right now, the Community Foundation of San Joaquin is trying to do everything possible to assist our local nonprofit organizations with their charitable missions. This is an opportunity for nonprofits to engage donors and seek new donors as well. Many organizations plan to use the day for their annual campaign efforts or to raise much-needed unrestricted dollars.

209Gives is being powered by CFOSJ and is supported by some of the county’s leading businesses, such as Port of Stockton, Oak Valley Community Bank and many more. The day aims to raise a total of $100,000 for nonprofits and in support of a wide causes and will be conducted entirely using a unified online platform and via social media. The day will also feature cash prizes through random prize drawings.

Modeled after successful giving days in other parts of the country, 209Gives helps nonprofits share their stories and collect donations through GiveGab, a secure fundraising platform. CFOSJ has made the tool available to participating nonprofits for July 21 and for the coming year to help each organization make the most of the 209Gives campaign.
