The Brian M. Stocker Fund was established at the San Joaquin Community Foundation through a generous legacy gift from the estate of Brian M. Stocker–who spent most of his life in the Lodi/Stockton area. The mission of the Fund is to support Brian’s lifelong passion for recreational programs, wellness and healthy living among children and youth in Northern San Joaquin County, with a preference given to Lodi and Stockton.

Invitation-Only Grant Application Process

To seek out grantees, a subcommittee actively engages with a wide range of youth-serving organizations and community stakeholders to monitor ongoing and emerging needs and strategies involving the health of youth in our communities.

More About Brian M. Stocker

Brian Stocker

Brian M. Stocker, who died in 2010 at the age of 48, eight years after a life-altering automobile accident, passionately believed in youth athletics as a catalyst for instilling leadership skills, personal responsibility, teamwork, fair play and healthy living. Compelled to establish a legacy to fulfill his goals, Brian left the bulk of his estate for the express purpose of establishing a charitable fund to support local organizations and initiatives aligned with his interests. In keeping with these wishes, the Brian M. Stocker Field of Interest Fund was established at the San Joaquin Community Foundation in 2018. The Brian M. Stocker Fund is also expanding aquatics opportunities in Lodi with a $275,000 grant over 10 years providing scholarships for swim lessons, lifeguard training, summer swim league, free swim days at Lodi Lake and underwriting the annual summer swim championships.
