With over 12 years of grants management experience, George Lorente continues to fulfill his passion for funding impactful projects that benefit the community where he was raised. Prior to joining the San Joaquin Community Foundation, he served as Grants Manager for the San Joaquin Regional Transit District. He secured and managed over $200 million in grants for various bus infrastructure projects. George holds a B.A. degree in Communications Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.S. degree in Transportation Management from San Jose State University’s Lucas Graduate School of Business.
George is responsible for maintaining functional excellence in discretionary grantmaking and scholarships while striving for a high-quality experience for donors and community stakeholders.
